Hyatt Place Athens / Downtown

This place is amazing! The breakfast was over the top along with it being free, the front desk got me in my room super quick with a smile and positive attitude, the rooms was spacious and very clean, the location was perfect right in downtown to where I could walk to everything and shop. They have a hybar on the rooftop that was beyond beautiful when the sun set. I will definitely be back. Really enjoyed my stay. Thank y'all so much.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt Place Athens, in GA for a wedding. Room was comfortable, laid out like a suite. Excellent proximity to downtown Athens and the campus. Breakfast had a nice variety, including eggs/sausage, fruit, chobani yogurt, cereal. Our favorite breakfast of the trip. The rooftop bar is definitely a destination ‘scene’ for college crowd going for an upscale feel. Would certainly stay here again.

Super convenient to the Classic center and Aiken arena and UGA. Can walk to any of these areas. Enjoyed our stay and staff members were helpful but have one recommendation to hotel - need to deep clean breakfast area and better train staff on proper infection control and cleaning techniques. Breakfast bar area needs a good cleaning as utensil containers had old food buildup in them, heat sources for food had grease and grime build up along edges and staff serving doors were filthy. I saw a staff member sneeze in her hand and then wipe her hand with the towel she was cleaning tables with.

Stayed here for a conference and I was very happy with it! Every employee I ran into was very kind and helpful. (especially since I conveniently forgot how to work an elevator) The rooms were very clean and the bathroom was exceptionally clean! Highly recommend!!

Our room was haunted. I do recommend this hotel, just not room 525. There was what sounded like a whistling sound and when it got quiet, it sounded like more of a howl. I could hear it from the hallway as well. No other rooms seemed to have this problem. The breakfast buffet was phenomenal though, which I believe made up for our room being haunted. My other issue I had was the guy at the front desk told us the parking was on him as a gift to us since it was our anniversary. They still changed us though.

I had a wonderful stay at the Hyatt Place Athens/Downtown. The central location, clean rooms, and friendly staff made my visit enjoyable and convenient for exploring the area.

I went to this hotel on 5/30/25-6/1/25 for a wedding. I booked the room months ahead, via the app. I do believe we had a wedding discount for the Faulk-Green wedding. Check in was super easy. The room was GORGEOUS. We had 4 people in our room. Two queen beds and a pull-out sofa bed. The sleeping arrangements were great. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The next day, there was an issue with my room key. The staff had to bring a computer to let me into my room. They did this prompt without any issues. I loved the customer service. There was always someone at the front desk to assist with anything we needed. THE FOOD Y'ALL. The food was fresh and there was a huge variety. The biscuits were homemade. We had a very large party, and the food did not run out or disappoint. The food from the bar was also excellent. This was the best hotel stay. 2500/5 for sure. The wedding was in the building across the street from the hotel and it was also soooo beautiful. The wedding suite was also beautiful. Spacious and had a beautiful balcony. The rooftop bar was great. We are saved people, but we still went to the rooftop bar, got non alcoholic drinks and the scenery was beautiful.

We came on a Sunday night and ordered the wings and Parmesan fries (never disappoints). Lucky for us, they were out of wings. The good hand breaded chicken tenders with a side of banging sauce. What a wonderful and unexpected treat. The bar staff was an ambitious senior at UG and kept us entertained.
